Gender Dysphoria Therapeutic Services
Unlike Yellow Door's other services, this therapeutic group and other support is not focused on helping those who have experienced abuse. Instead, this service is available specifically for young people who may be questioning, or struggling with, their gender identity.
Who's it for?
The Gender Dysphoria Therapeutic Group works with young people aged 11 - 18 who are experiencing difficulties regarding their gender identity.
How might the service help me?
We provide creative and interactive group sessions that offer a safe space where you can:
explore gender identity and what it means to you
talk with other young people who are facing similar (as well as different) challenges
consider healthy and positive ways of managing gender related difficulties
When is it?
The group meets weekly during term time on a Thursday evening between 5.15 and 6.45 pm.
How big is it?
It has a maximum of eight group members at any time.
Family / Professional linking & support
We can provide some limited support for parents and carers. We also welcome and encourage contact with any involved professionals.
